Some changes to the previous blog, Ed is going to set up a temporary merch site with vinyl lps, limited edition screenprints, and t-shirts. he'll do this at the weekend, and you'll be able to pay by paypal. if however you haven't got paypal, then send a message here: info at indelicates dot com, and i'll try and work out some other way for you. This page will only be up as long as we still have merch, and as we sold a fair bit in Germany/ Austria things like the vinyl LP's and screenprints are worth getting sooner rather than later. Once they're gone, there will only be a few t-shirts.

The japanese release date for the album is now 7TH JUNE.

Just a quick message to thank everyone who helped out with The Indelicates' latest tour of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The audiences were amazing, every night, all of them. Thank you also to all the venues, to our booker from Dial, and to Weekender Germany and UK for their help.

Next live dates are in Oxford on the 27th May, then Brighton on the 29th May, following which The Indelicates album American Demo comes out in Japan on the 2nd June (as far as i know the date is still right, though i'll update if it changes). Also, as far as i know we won't be travelling to Japan until September, but the album will be in shops.

So far no UK festivals, because as i've said before, we don't have a UK booker, which is getting ridiculous, but there you are. The Frequency festival in Salzburg tickets are on sale, if you want to travel, and are here:

The Indelicates head off on the European leg of their tour this week, beginning in
Hamburg on Wednesday 23rd.

Please be informed that The Indelicates will no longer be appearing at Don Hills in New York this evening (Friday 7th March). This is due to delays in receiving back our passports from the embassy.

We have however been informed that our visas and passports are on their way, so if you're attending SXSW in Austin this year, do come and see us.

We'll be re-scheduling the New York date as part of a mini-tour for later in the year.

I'm pretty gutted we couldn't do the show, but glad that we'll still be making it to Texas. So apologies all round, and we'd like to thank Mondo NYC for being so neat about our difficulties.

Go dance at the dance party anyway, it sounds like a blast :)

Greetings slavish underlings,

February being an absurdly short month, and the perception of time being directly relative to one’s level of activity: March is almost upon us. This is important to us (at least) for several reasons.

Firstly, March is the month when our next single ‘America’ is released. You can preorder it now (which I’m sure benefits you in some way) from here. Get both formats for a FIVER.

Secondly, March is the month before April and April is the month when our debut album comes out. Having toyed with the idea of calling it ‘Mohammed’, we decided on ‘American Demo’ instead because a) it seemed fittingly truthful and b) we were hideous moral cowards. We can confirm that the release date is April 14th and that the tracklisting is as follows:

In the meantime we shall be leaving this godforsaken stretch of atlantic detritus for the fair lands to the west where we will be playing Manhattan, driving the appalachian trail, heading past graceland graceland, memphis, tennessee, across arkansas, taking note of the way to amarillo (in case anyone asks) and descending on austin to play the indie X Factor that is South By Southwest. Having taken manhattan, we shall endeavor to take Berlin at our german album launch on March 28th. Then we’re playing a bunch of dates in the UK (some TBC – keep checking the myspace) before embarking on a fortnight of shows in Germany/Austria.

The Indelicates have been confirmed to showcase at the SXSW Festival. Not sure where yet. BUT IT'S EXCITING.

'SIXTEEN' will be available for download in Germany on iTunes and others from the 15th February.

Single 'AMERICA' on forthcoming Debut album 'AMERICAN DEMO' comes out on Weekender Records on the 24th March, followed by the release of the Album in April. Speedy blogger vonpip thinks this of it:

DEBUT ALBUM: AUSTRIA + GERMANY TOUR NOV 2007

The Indelicates have been making their Debut Album. As far as i can tell, they haven't had too many fights :) but some, oh yes, BUT SOME.....

The Album is due out in March, another single from the upcoming Album in February, and THE INDELICATES GO ON TOUR in AUSTRIA and Germany in a few days. Initially only a few dates, THE TOUR has turned into a headline at Salzburg's grand ROCKHOUSE, then they're doing a busker's set at their label's home the WEEKENDER CLUB, in INNSBRUCK, then heading of to Julia's half home town Vienna (WIEN) and then to GERMANY for the last couple, beginning in KAISERSLAUTERN and ending up in BERLIN for an evening of ART FOR THE PEOPLE.

As of about 8:45 this evening, we have officially agreed to take money for our art and release albums with Weekender Records.

In other words, we are now 'signed' and probably too mainstream for many of your tastes.

The Album should be out in March '08.

This is what we've been up to/ are going to be up to, so far, and in the next few months of 2007.

THIS WEEK we are recording two tracks with Brian O'Shaunessy. They will both be SINGLES. They will come out on WEEKENDER RECORDS, the first should be out around MAY of this year.

NEXT WEEK we will be recording NEW SONGS for the B-SIDES of the SINGLES.

FOLLOWING this we will be making VIDEOS for the SINGLES. There MAY be a need for EXTRAS for the videos, but we'll sort that nearer.

GIGS

- at THE WINDMILL on the 6th APRIL Adie's WORLD DOMINATION LEAGUE. Bands include: kid carpet + tim ten yen + the indelicates + the moths! + story one + tiny masters of today + open mouth + 4 or 5 magicians + more tbc. IT COSTS: £5 in advance, £6 on the door: IT IS the long bad friday all-dayer. FREE BBQ.

- at NAMBUCCA on the 21st APRIL with Bottle Rocket, Eighth Rule, Joe Rybicki. Headline. Lovers Need Lawyers promotions.

- at KATO in BERLIN on the 26th APRIL, part of BRITISH MUSIC WEEK (BMW) with Fury of the headteachers + the decorations. Ticket information once i get it, but if you're flying out now is a good time i think to buy tickets (spring ones tend to be cheap, i think).

- at NAMBUCCA on the 19TH MAY for BLOODY AWFUL POETRY night. with Friends Of The Bride and Jubb and The Dirty Sleeves.

GERMAN EP: The Last Significant Statement To Be Made In Rock and Roll

The Indelicates are releasing a German EP.

The Last Significant Statement To Be Made In Rock and Roll features new recordings, live recordings, acoustic recordings and, of course, a remix.

The Indelicates will be promoting this release on their German 6 date tour beginning in Hamburg on the 12th February, and for one night only in Innsbruck in Austria on the 19th February.

This is a limited edition release, available to buy on the tour. However, the release is also available from Sad Gnome Records, who released The Indelicates' debut single in July/ August 2006.

First off, if you don't own a record player and were thus unwilling to buy what would have been essentially a mildly controversial frisbee ("it's misogynist, man" - some bloke from a band), the Indelicates' debut single 'We Hate The Kids' is now available to buy on iTunes for the oddly exact price of £3.16. Not only do you get the two tracks from the record but Ed's fabulous hard trance version and an exclusive 'youth club indiscretion remix' by Nicky Biscuit out of filthy regency disco demi-gods, the Video Club.

Second off, if you don't own any money the Indelicates Podcast is ready for you to subscribe to. We'll be placing irregular audio gifts on the feed as time goes on and, to kick off, we've got half an hour of us rehearsing the other day which - if you close your eyes, turn up the heating, smoke a lot, get drunk, persuade some people to press themselves against you while intermittently clapping and play it at full volume twice - is almost exactly like seeing us live.

WE'VE done this before, and it worked really well, so i'd like to do it again and gather up any new info.

Where in the country would you like us to come next? So far we have been to Liverpool, Durham, Newcastle, Chatham, (and many gigs in London, and only a few in Brighton).

I know there is at least one person asking for Birmingham, and there were many others, though we didn't get to all of them.

The last time we did this, it was AMAZING. So we should do it again i think. Ok?

As you may know, The Indelicates will be playing The Garage (highbury, london) on June 9th. We really want you to come to this, and, being rather demanding, when you do we really want you to bring one of these fliers with you.

Thanks to all who shared Shoreditch and Chatham with us. What a great time we had! Grand it was.

Next up we have Nambucca on the 17th May, and Liverpool on the 25th. Hopefully see some of you there.

There's still time to see us if you fancy a drive. Come to Poole on Saturday 25th and see us with Joe Gallagher or come to the very very cool Songs For The Present Century where the Indelicates will be sharing top-billing with iDou the fucking marvellous London duo whose backing tracks are all on an iPod shuffle, meaning that the setlist is unknown to the band before the gig - this doesn't matter because all their songs are great. Half of them used to be half of Carter USM as well, but I'm sure he's sick of that being appended to every single writeup so we'll just leave it there. Also on the bill: The Ne'er-Do-Wells who do nothing and The Bravado from Oxford who don't.

Elsewise, things are looking good for The Indelicates making it north of Watford in May and June with Gigs extremely likely in Newcastle, Durham and Liverpool. It would be amazing if we could find a gig somewhere between Durham and Brighton for June 7th (Birmingham? anyone?). We're also heading back to Shoreditch and over to Chatham at the beginning of May. That's all for now.

In Which Simon and Julia find themselves cancelled by the 333 at the last minute AGAIN, but by means of their cunning do secure themselves an even better gig so that no one need be disappointed and everyone still has a place to be this thursday

Yep, that's right folks, the 333 cancelled on us with three days to go, so it won't be happening: HOWEVER, me and Julia emailed, phoned, PMed and posted pretty much everyone in London trying to find a place to play and, thanks to Keith Totp (who recorded the versions of Doherty and Photographs on the site and who is generally ace), we did.

SO: we will now be playing at NAMBUCCA which is on the Holloway Road (ARCHWAY nearest tube, only seven stops on the Northern Line from Old Street where you were going anyway), details of which are HERE

The headliners are Rosemary, who have a myspace HERE
and who have recently supported the Buff Medways and have played the Tap'n'Tin (there's always a Chatham connection)

Entry will only cost �3 which is very reasonable

The Indelicates will, given circumstances, be grateful to go on first. This means you'll need to be there at 8:30pm to be sure to catch us.

The thing is: PLEASE COME - if you were coming to the 333, please come to Nambucca,. please tell people who might not know about the venue change to come to Nambucca, please phone your gran and ask her to recommend to any conmen who try to trick her out of her silver that they spend the proceeds on a ticket to Nambucca. Please, as I may have said before, come!

In fact, if you do come, we'll email you an mp3 that you don't have - maybe even two...

It looks almost certain now that the gig on the 19th at the 333 will not be going ahead. We are assured that we will be playing the 333 on the 16th February - but given our track record with this gig, I wouldn't blame you if you waited for a concrete confirmation before clearing your diary. We'll post as soon as we know for sure.

In Better news, Maps Magazine went live today with a review of New Year's, an Interview with Simon and Julia and The Indelicates listed as their favourite demo of 2005. Check it out.

Also, thanks again to everyone who suggested distant venues for us to adventure toward. Me and Julia'll be going through the details in the next few days and making various contacts.

We Want To Visit You...

Do you live in a town that isn't London or Brighton, but that does have a local indie venue where up-themselves, South-eastern, chalk-hoovering bands rarely deign to play?

We want to play there.

Trouble is, we don't know where there is, so we can't ask there to have us.

What we were thinking was - as you do know where there is and possibly go there at weekends, you could burn your favourite four songs from our website onto a CD and take it there and ask for us.

Then - we could come and play and you could come in for free and we could take you backstage and do Rockbitch style things to you (or, at least, offer you a cup of tea and a ferrero rocher)...

That'd be triffic, wouldn't it?

Attention all thinking of attending Real Live Wires tomorrow night (25th)!
Due to the complicated ins and outs of public entertainments licensing procedures and a tiny little loophole whereby venues that don�t, in fact, have public entertainment licenses are not allowed to offer public entertainments - Real Live Wires will NOT be held at Corsica Studios all of a sudden and after all.
